Expert Chimney Cleaning in New Jersey
Creosote and blockage removal to keep your fireplace drafting safely and reduce the risk of a chimney fire.
Why chimney cleaning matters
Creosote is the tar that wood smoke leaves on the inside of a flue, and it burns. Build it up over a few seasons and a chimney fire becomes a real possibility. A blocked or restricted flue is the other hazard: it pushes combustion gases, carbon monoxide included, back into the room instead of up and out.
What the job includes
- Flue swept from top to bottom to remove creosote and soot
- Firebox, smoke shelf and damper cleared
- Cap and crown checked for nesting, debris and blockage
- Visual inspection of the liner, with anything of concern shown to you
Signs you need it
- Smoke pushing back into the room instead of drawing up
- A strong campfire smell from the fireplace when it isn't lit
- Black, flaky or tarry buildup visible in the flue
- A full burning season since the last sweep
